We know applying to preschool can be stressful. That’s why at the Downtown Little School we try to keep this process as simple and fair as possible. We don’t screen children or families; instead we use a lottery system for admissions. We believe that a high quality program does not need to pick and choose the children who can attend; rather we bring together a diverse range of children and families who form a cohesive community and build relationships that last well beyond the preschool years.

Application Steps (2024/25 School Year)

Apply. Complete the online Application Form for 2024/25.

Pay Application Fee. Click the PayPal button at the bottom of this page to pay the nonrefundable application fee of $65.

​Tours. We begin tours in October. When we receive your application, we'll contact you to set up your tour.

Admissions Lottery & Notification. Spots are filled by lottery. Admissions letters for the upcoming school year are sent via email in early February. After the lottery we continue to accept applications for our waiting list. If a family declines their spot, we contact the next family on the list.
Financial Aid is available for qualified families. Please let us know on your application if you plan to apply for aid; application for aid does not affect admissions decisions.
