Like all schools, we are physically closed.  Remaining connected with families and continuing to operate in line with our philosophy seemed like an insurmountable challenge.  Our classrooms have always been screen-free, and anyone who knows the two of us knows that technology is not our forte! Still, along with our staff of creative, dedicated, compassionate and indefatigable teachers, we hit the ground running with Zooms, homemade videos, home-activity suggestions, a live-feed with our music teacher, and even a new IG hashtag #downtownlittlehomeschool. 

 

The work of improving the “Bringing DLS Home” experience for children and parents continues! We now have Zooms for the whole class, small groups and individual children, plus parents-only Zooms to answer questions and exchange ideas.  We continue to produce homemade books, DLS style, to help explain to children some of the more confusing aspects of these times.
